Blair Athol Distillery History

1798 Early references to Blair Athol Distillery. 1825 Resurrected by John Robertson. 1860 Elizabeth Conacher took over 1882 Sold to P. McKenzie & Co and extended. 1932 Closed 1933 Purchased by Arthur Bell & Sons Ltd, but not reopened for some years. 1949 Production recommences after renovation. 1973 Stills increased from 2 to 4. 1949 Production recommences after renovation. 1985 Guiness Group buys Arthur Bells & Sons. 1987 Visitor Centre Built. 2010 A distillery exclusive bottling launched.
